About Our Faculty and Board of Directors

The primary factor that influences student success is the teacher. If a student likes his teacher(s), he is more apt to want to succeed. What sets Oakwood School apart from other schools is the quality and experience of our faculty. Thirty percent of our faculty has worked at Oakwood School for 26 years or more. Students are taught by highly educated, trained, dedicated and caring, teachers and aides. All classroom teachers hold Teacher of the Disabled degrees and all paraprofessionals hold Substitute Teacher Certification. Oakwood School faculty receives ongoing professional development and teachers are encouraged to enrich their teaching skills by taking educational courses and workshops.
